Joasia Krysa Resume

Curator, founding director of KURATOR and Reader in Art and Technology at the University of Plymouth, UK.

She is co-editor of DATA browser book series (published by Autonomedia, New York) and serves on a number of advisory, curatorial and management boards including WRO Media Art Foundation (Wroclaw, Poland) and Curatorial Network (with Arts Council England, UK). She regularly contributes to international juries (i.e. ARCO International Contemporary Art Fair, Madrid 2007-2010; SHARE Festival 2007) and scientific committees (i.e. 1st International Congress on Web Studies at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico 2010; Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, Madrid 2009-2010).

Recent curatorial projects include a touring exhibition After The Net (Observatori 2008, Valencia, University of Plymouth, 2009 and Tecnologico de Monterrey Toluca, Mexico 2010); experimental curatorial software kurator; and Curating, Immateriality, Systems programme, Tate Modern, London.

She edited Curating Immateriality (Autonomedia, New York 2006) and regularly contributes to publications (most recently Software Studies: A Lexicon, edited by Matthew Fuller, MIT 2008, and New Media in the White Cube and Beyond, edited by Christiane Paul, University of California Press 2008); conferences and panels (i.e. Computer Art Congress 2008, Mexico, and ‘Curating in/as (an) Open System(s)’ panel at the ISEA 2008, Singapore.
