Abstract

There is no clear rationale to the 'centring' of new media cultural practice, yet there remains a strong desire to build cultural centres to host this practice. Using recent research and the experience gained from working on the development of the FACT Centre in Liverpool, this presentation will explore the nature of 'centred' activity, including an examination of the issues arising through partnerships with social and economically driven investment agencies.
