KURATOR is a combined curatorial agency and research platform at the intersection of art, technology and society. It has a particular interest in the emerging discourse and practice that links curating with programming, software and networks.

KURATOR’s core activities include projects, research and publications.
A repository of all contents in the database can be found in the Archive section.

KURATOR’s academic research is organised as KURATOR/Art & Social Technologies Research group (K/AST), University of Plymouth, UK. The group has a special interest in the parallels between the organization of objects in technical systems and in curatorial practices, and the production of experimental, performative, participatory and distributed technological systems that challenge orthodox social relations. It offers expertise and supports interdisciplinary research across artistic and curatorial practices, critical theory, network theory and software studies.

We have close working links with the following: Arnolfini (Bristol, UK); Digital Aesthetics Research Centre, Aarhus University (Arhus, DK); CONT3XT.NET (Vienna, AT); LaAgencia (Madrid, ES); Museum of Ordure, (London, UK); WRO Foundation Media Art Center (Wroclaw, PL).
